Let's just get this out in the open now, the only thing I didn't like about this book is that its a short story that ends in a cliffhanger that will pick bad up in part 2 -\

On to the good parts lol...
They have an epic first meeting that I'll say made this a better story
He obviously rich and is late for an important meeting and shes a working actress heading into work, both happen to be going to the same local coffee shop. A heated argument between two men have her stopping to watch, but before anyone throws a punch she tries to resolve the issue. After a long day she comes home to find out her friend got them a job to been seen at some rich guys party. After arriving her friend and her split up, after hearing some nasty remarks from the 'mean girls' she puts her foot in her mouth. Not just a little either, she does what no intelligent person should ever do (especially if they don't end know what the host of the party looks like, could have been a 49 yr old balding fat guy) she states shes the girlfriend of the host!! So when the hot rich guy from the coffee shop is pulled by the snobby woman stating loud for everyone to hear that his girlfriend was there, he did the only thing she wasn't thinking he would. He walks up to her and goes along with the act!
Those are the only spoilers I shall give, to find out what happens grab yourself a copy now.
I was getting into this book just as it ended. I do like the fact that there will be two other parts for me to see what happens next in Becca and Marc(k)us, however I'm not sure if it will be worth purchasing the books to only get 59% of actual story, and the rest is "ads" or previews for other books. I liked the story, but I could not imagine paying for it. thank goodness this was a free download. I would like to revisit these stories if they are redone with less ads in the back! overall the story is great!
Irritating read riddled with mistakes and inconsistencies. The author apparently couldn't decide how she wanted to spell the main, male character's name so she switches back and forth between Marcus, Markus and Marckus(?) the entire time. In one chapter, she calls him all 3 in a single paragraph. When the characters are doing tequila shots, she puts the salt on his neck but licks it off his ear? This type of lazy writing (and apparently no editing) continues through to the annoying, cliffhanger ending. Don't even get me started on the overuse of exclamation points.

Also, this book is super short. While reading, my kindle showed I was only at 48% complete when the story came to a (to be continued) end. The other 52% consisted of ads and "samples" of other books.

I gave it two stars because it was free and I was able to finish what little there was of the story. I will not be paying for the rest of the series.
This book started out weak. I almost stopped reading after the first chapter, but I kept reading and it did get better. Funny banter between characters. Some parts seemed adolescent but overall it was a good story. The one thing I did not like is at 58% the book ended even though it was over 200 pages.
Rebecca (or “Bex”) is a struggling actress who pays the bills by being a pretend nurse (she breezily tells us she is trained by her employer – a long-term care facility—to perform the duties of a nurse, something that is both illegal and represents a substantial opportunity for a civil lawsuit). One morning she runs into a handsome and apparently wealthy man on the street. She’s instantly attracted to him. Soon afterwards, she is hired to be eye candy at a swanky society party. Somewhat inexplicably, she decides to tell a group of guests that she is dating the host. Unsurprisingly, the host turns out to be the man from earlier in the book. Marcus (or “Markus,” the author goes back and forth on the spelling) is a billionaire playboy. He’s famous enough to be on the cover of “Time” and subjected to constant photographer attention, but – despite the fact that they live in the same city --Bex somehow has no idea who he is (although within a few days, she’s confident enough to provide analysis of his business and personality to others). It’s weird and it makes the book feel like it never gets established in reality. Rose can’t decide if Marcus/Markus is truly famous or not – he’s only famous, it seems, when it suits the plot. At other times, he can get in a confrontation outside a coffee shop and nobody in a crowd has an idea who he is.

Anyway, when Marcus/Markus finds out that a struggling actress is pretending to be his girlfriend so she can tell off his party guests, he decides to go along with the act. And then he decides to offer her a bunch of money to continue the act. Why? Some business reasons that make little sense.

Rose is vague on how Marcus/Markus actually maintains his fortune (which he initially inherited from his father). When Bex describes his business to others, she makes him sound like some sort of middle management asset manager. It’s another example of how the book struggles to depict reality. The plot is artificially drawn out by the main characters refusing to face reality or apply common sense (there are multiple scenes where Bex wonders why Marcus/Markus is being romantic or sexual with her even when there is nobody to witness it – uh, maybe he likes you?).

Sometimes waiting for character to realize they’re attracted to each other adds to the fun of the book, but I found Bex’s obtuseness more annoying than engaging, especially given that there is nothing else in the plot to pay attention to.
Just thought you should know upfront that this ends with a Cliffhanger. As I came back to leave my review, book description now reads "your questions won't be answered in book 1," which is a huge understatement - it leaves you hanging. It seemed to be a fun read, and I enjoyed the story. But when the story ended abruptly with my kindle showing only 60% completed (because author gives a sample of another book afterwards), I came online to see the cost for the rest of the series. Each cost more than usual, and book 2 is only 123 pages and book 3 is only 125 pages? I don't know why good authors listen to bad marketing advice. I'm not likely to buy two short book segments when I can give my money to an author who doesn't try to nickel and dime me.
