I have been a huge fan of JoAnn Ross for many years. Of all the books in the Shelter Bay series, Moonshell Beach is my favorite. J.T. Douchett, an ex-Marine and Mary Joyce, screenwriter and actress are the main characters. They meet while Mary is in Shelter Bay for a film festival and J.T. has been asked to act as her bodyguard. We hear so much about the courage and heroism all of our men and women in the military display while defending our country. What we don't hear so much about is those that are tasks with notifying families when their loved one has been killed. During the last 18 months of J.T.'s enlistment, that was his assignment. Ms. Ross did a wonderful job of showing the amount of courage and empathy needed by these warriors and the toll it takes on them. It would take a special person to understand the price these soldiers pay in order to make these notifications, day in and day out. Mary Joyce was just that person. J.T. was literally the man of her dreams, and Mary was the person that J.T. needed to bring him back to life.
I really enjoyed how the author brought back characters from her Irish Castlelough Trilogy. Kate and Alec from Legends Lake, Erin and Michael Joyce (Mary's brother) from Fair Haven, Nora (Mary's sister) and Quinn from A Woman's Heart.
I really hope you enjoy Moonshell Beach as much as I did, as well as all the other books written by JoAnn Ross

JoAnn Ross did it again. The Shelter Bay series has been wonderful. Great read, moves right along. I have read a lot of her books and I have enjoyed them all. I would say you can't go wrong and I hope you enjoy this series and any of her other books.
JT Douchett is another hunk in my imagined storyline. This adds to the other Shelter Bay stories. JoAnn Ross tells a good story not too sexuall graphic but still sensual enough for the romantics at heart. I am a sucker for these stories. She does tend to weave alot into her stories but I didn't lose interest I found myself wanting to get to the good parts. Great series
Although Phoebe was in Shelter Bay for a good reason her story felt to me like it was stuck in here and there and left at loose ends. Otherwise I would have rated the book a 5.
You can't go wrong with JoAnn Ross. J.T. is awesome, so full of wonderful hope and deep feelings. Mary is truly a match for J.T. The rough Marine and the Irish gal. It is a heartwarming story, well written, and interesting. The town comes to life and the characters interact beautifully. This character development is Ross's strong point. Highly recommended. Enjoy.
This book was just another of JoAnn Ross' great writings. The story line kept me engrossed throughout. And I was really excited as the charactors developed. One thing I didn't like was the relationship developed between Phoebie and Ethan but never carried very far. Maybe it is something for another book, but it was disappointing the way they kept fading in and out of the book and at the end we were kept hanging. But I did so enjoy the saga of J.T. and Mary..Looking forward to the next in this series about Shelter Bay characters.
When an author writes a series of books placed in one particular location the reading of each separate book is enjoyable and well worth continuing. Have read many books written by Jo Ann Ross. I like reading books that flow along in such a way that you can't wait to turn the pages.

I am a senior citizen and mostly read for entertainment. There are many female authors writing some really good books which keep a person entertained.
Much better than the third book, but still felt liked there was too much stuff packed in and rushed through. Also, the dialogue for Mary seemed a little force and fake. It actually became a bit distracting and unlikeable at times.

Although it was likeable, I'm feeling a bit disappointed with this series and won't be taking any chances on any other books in it.
